I found an old note to myself that reads
“Philosophical dialogue in the Gulags. Generationship. Blog this.”
Neither I nor anyone else will every know what this means.

Conversations about truth and morality between the different generations that found themselves linked together in the gulag?

That would be a fun little book. I would read it with interest.
Or maybe the idea is that on a generation ship to the stars, philosophical dialogues would emerge as Solzhenitsyn says they did in some parts of the Gulag Archipelago

There is an interesting novel hiding there.
Centuries after the generationship launched, things have degenerated into tyranny — partly out of power and cruelty, partly out of sheer necessity.
But now, the end draws nigh. They are approaching their destination, and no one, not even the tyrant can deny the long whine of engines slowing them down. But what comes next?
What CAN come next?
A philosophical dialogue between a tyrant who has the tiger by the tail, and a reluctant prophet, about how to keep things from killing everyone.
That is… if the destination is habitable.
