Dive to the Sun
I was grumbling in my heart that I haven’t dreamed for months. Now I have three. Here’s one:
We are standing near the edge of the world watching a naked man. We are probably all naked too, dunno, but we are, like him, all very innocent. This land is Eden or something like it. The man is standing at the edge. It is a high and grassy where we are, then there is the edge which is a cliff. Far, far below you can just barely make out through the haze and the clouds that there might be some other land below.
The man is Adam, our first father, but also somehow all of us. He is mankind. Call him Adam They as the scriptures sometimes do.
He is trying to see if there is a way down. There is nothing here but the grass and the trees and the cliff.
But there is no way down.
Finally he just plunges. He just jumps.
He plunges down down down and our view goes with him,–remember, he is us in some way–we see the air streaking past him and the clouds roiling and he falls faster and faster, head down. He is like a bullet headed for the ground.
Then a miracle happens and he grows wings like an angel which instantly catch the air and he makes a U in the air and is now heading back up, arms and wings thrown back, face looking forward to the sky, shockwaves around him, he is like some futurist painting. He is going up as fast as he came down, or even faster, and even faster.
And now we are back on the cliff and we see him shooting up past us and further up into the sky toward the sun, he is a small, he is a dot, he is gone.
And some say that he is now soaring in the highest regions of the sky.
But I say that the sky has no end and his speed was still increasing and he will rocket to the seat of glory, be it the sun or wherever it may be, where his destiny no eye can see nor tongue speak.
