Becoming as Gods
Father: And what do you want for this new year?
Girl: I want to be fancy!
Father: Fancy! Like Fancy Nancy.
Boy: That’s so stupid.
Father: And what do you want?
Boy: I want to be king of the world.
Father: What would you do if you were king of the world?
Boy: I’d have a whole house full of toy soldiers and nobody could ever tell me to put them away!
Becoming as a little child means having the pure desire of childhood coupled with the vision of an adult. You should still want the house full of toy soldiers, or being able to dress to your heart’s delight. But not just that.
On the other hand, sometimes becoming is better than becoming as. I wonder if the root of Eve’s trangression was that she was satisfied with just becoming as a god.

Personally I want a house with a tower full of good books – a personal lending library, if you will. If I ever manage to buy land and build my own home (currently unlikely) it will have built-in bookshelves in most of the walls.
. . . I’ve got a good start on the books, at least.
But what I really want is people to share ’em with so we can discuss.
