Big Corporate Fast Update
* I had a pen I like and use a lot die. Instead of reflexively reordering on Amazon, I found a small company that sold it, gouletpens.com. The price was the same though I did have to pay a little extra for shipping. The good news is that this small company has a wealth of technical information about each product plus tons of walk throughs and explanations. I got hooked. The bad news is that I ended up buying various extra supplies beyond the pen I originally went for.
** I wanted t-posts for some temporary poultry fencing in a size not carried by my local hardware store. I could have got it the big box store, but … I was on a short work trip and conceived the idea of buying them at a local hardware store there. My laziness module then kicked in to figure out a way to build the fencing without the extra t-posts.
*** We ran out of the particular brand of mayo we use. No vegetable oils. But since we buy it at Walmart and our local grocery story only carries it at double the price, we made our own. Delicious. Granted we made it using avocado oil we bought from Walmart a month ago, but that’s ok. We aren’t going full Amish, we are just trying to step back for the duration of the fast.
My main impression so far is that the whole process is less involved and takes less effort than I thought it would.
