Down through the Roof

This week you want to read Brother McConkie’s talk from last General Conference. Its about the man sick of palsy whose friends got him down through the roof to the Lord, Mark 2:1-12.
My own two bits of value here.

Additional take:
Sometimes the sheer nature of the church’s size can be a problem of getting people closer to Christ.
Pushing through, around, and even pulling down the roof no doubt annoyed any waiting their turn in line.
Sometimes we have to keep moving forward to whatever avenues possible, regardless of the annoyance of others.
To me, I can’t help but see the traditional way of doing things, crowded with members who all clog each other up. And some others who use creative, even creatively destructive means to accomplish what’s needed.
But the danger is, what if everyone in the crowd felt empowered to take off walls and roofs to get at the savior?
We have a church that demands direct access to God and creative solutions to ministering to our fellow man on one hand, and potentially the stagnating bureaucracy of a crowded street on the other.
