…a rather noble sounding fellow. (Would that we in the US could find such a fearless, articulate person willing to run for national office. Or perhaps the media go to work to crush and vilify any and all who try.) But the cynic in me wonders how soon we will start hearing of the skeletons in his closet.

annie, that last was my first thought…, the establishment will have to take him out.

But this is france. What’s the scandal going to be, that one time he did not have an affair?

It won’t matter what he’s accused of, and it won’t matter if the accusations are true, both his transgressions and the outrage will be amplified… manufactured if needed.

Europe is more corrupt and rotted than the US. And in the last 6 years, we’ve seen how far the rot goes over here.

G, you made me chuckle. Book, my cynicism goes both ways; your way, that the media will try to take him out, and my first thought, that he will be discovered to be a monster in some covered up way; ie Cuomo brothers, Bill Cosby, Matt Lauer, financially corrupt, etc etc. ad nauseum. However, his wiki page (can that be believed?) indicates he’s a family man. Whatever he turns out to be, I agree that we in the US are in a world of trouble. Hard to watch.

And . . . his campaign videos have been unofficially banned for ‘age inappropriate content’. You can’t watch them on sites other than YouTube, and only if you sign in. They won’t specify why the videos merit an age ban.
From what I watched – before the blockade – he seems to be very much what France needs right now. If only we could get some candidates for higher offices like him here!
