I came to appreciate translator Eduardo Balderas as I read the Book of Mormon, the D & C, and Jesus the Christ (by Talmage) on my mission.

Especially Jesus the Christ. Balderas used a vocabulary and grammar that did not convey the high-falutin’ tone/style that Talmage conveyed. The author’s tone/style in the English edition provided too much friction for me to get through it.
It makes sense that Balderas was also a patriarch.

Balderas also translated hymns so they sound like they were originally written in Spanish. He was superb.
