Governor Palin Inexplicably Resigns
July 07th, 2009 by Bertie
The many-headed may criticize this resignation as a move that is on the whole not judicious, perhaps even rash, but Bertram Wooster cannot agree, and not just because he’s a preux chevalier. He–by which I mean me, if you follow me–too has known the pressures of being a public figure. Why, I remember when I was writing my little article for Milday’s Boudouir, the pressure was downright intense. I had to drain the bitter cup, not to mention several glasses of whiskey and s., light on the s. No, you shall not catch our Bertram criticizing La Palin. Bertram Knows.

No sane person would wish to hold high office in today’s world. Having said that, I still think Romney’s my kind of creepy misfit.

Creepy misfit. Heh. Kinda true, though.

I know it’s probably not popular to say here but I will be glad if she dissapears from the public eye. And that’s just because I don’t want my kids hearing her attitude of celebrating being a “joe sixpack”. I want my kids to think that no matter where you come from you should strive to be well-read and well-spoken. And many of the things she said during the election seemed that she was mocking that and celebrating mediocrity.
Same reason I don’t want my kids listening to country music that claims pride in being a redneck. I just think you should strive for more.

I too worry about our glorification of Joe Sixpack, and think our kids should strive for more. Like aspiring to be Joe Malt Liquor.

Like Barack Obama, Sarah Palin seems to be a nice person. But neither of them has the qualities for being an effective president. Both are charismatic, but neither seems to have the gravitas to be able to handle the press or Nancy Pelosi, either of which can quickly sink a president’s administration.

Matsby, on the evidence, wishing Palin would disappear from the public eye isn’t at all unpopular here. I wish she would, too.
I like democrats (with a small ‘d’ only) but have no use for populists.

An’ mebbe I ain’t got a use fer YOU, ya goldurn dogie. Missie Palin is a peach an’ any low-down, louse-ridden, hoss-stealin’ polecat skunk as says otherwise needs saddled up and spurred through a prickly pear until he comes to his poquito senses, if’n he has any, which he don’t.
