Despair (Pain and Suffering for Lent)

It is all hopeless. There is no point.  You despair.

But yet when you cry out in despair you don’t realize it but you are asking for help.

Despair *hurts*.  That hurt is to drive you to some kind of action.  The pain of despair is the last form of hope.

True despair is almost nothing at all.

Satan realizes this.  So many forms of sin and misery still retain something of godliness and hope in them.  And that he cannot abide.  And so he drives himself and those with  him further and further away from anything at all, further into the remote dark.
