Maybe it is just me, but it feels like public expression of variance with the church has become dumber. It used to be fans of Eugene England trying, sometimes too hard, to be educatedly thoughtful. Now it is more “garments make me itch and the church should give me money” from people who read a book once and remember a line passed down through Bill Nye from Carl Sagan.
