There are interesting parallels between Bruce Charlton’s reasoning on why more than one creation (estate) was necessary, and our own LDS doctrine that Christ did the Atonement twice.

@G – Thanks for noticing my Second Creation post – which felt very significant to me as a breakthrough of understanding when I wrote it (and indeed since).
I don’t really agree, however, that there is much of a parallel with the Double Atonement; since the Second Creation idea is a linear sequence and a progression between qualitatively different states.
Whereas (as I am understanding it) the Double Atonement is complementary – the second part being not so much a progression, as the completion of a single process of Atonement.
