California Dreaming

I dreamed I found my way to the hidden part of California. Its below San Diego and its a landscape of brushy tangled hills where the sea pounds against rocky pinnacles under a lowering sky. No one lives there but there is a road that winds in and out down the coast. When you find your way there, at the beginning there is a roadhouse perched on the rocks above the sea. Other than that there is no inhabitant.

Sound like my favorite spot of Point Loma and the Cabrillo Lighthouse. I haven’t been back to San Diego (where I was born and raised) since my father died in 2018. Even then it was taking on the characteristics of a third world country. So sad too, because it is a beautiful place with great weather.

There was a guy who wanted the Saints to settle in California instead of Utah.
He may have been right, but it is increasingly starkly clear, that Brigham was far more right.

I was just at Point Loma Nazarene University, which I suppose would be close by.
