Exaltation in Your Heart
July 10th, 2023 by G.
There is a mood called exaltation. It is akin to the mood they call fey.
It feels good and is sometime spiritual but I have learned it is not always. I have learned it is not a reliable indicator of the presence of the Holy Ghost.

That is the feeling that my lapsed Mormon (I use the word advisedly) friend claimed that he could produce on command, so didn’t believe that God existed anymore. He’s an excitable person; I think what he was feeling was nothing like the deep peace that is only the gift of the Spirit. He certainly is not feeling peace now, which saddens me, because he could use some. But he has built his life philosophy on sandy foundations, and the storms keep coming.
I have felt that mood once in a blue moon during a particularly good sacrament meeting; for some reason my response to it is to sing descant?

What feeling is this exactly? Like feeling triumphant, or that victory is inevitable?
The feelins I associate with the spirit is joy, which is mixed with a feeling of profound gratitude. I suppose triumphalism could be in the mix.
Also, there is a type of sorrow, I’d associate with the spirit.

Yeah, like that. But almost like being triumphant without necessarily having triumphed.
It is a fruit of the spirit. For me it makes me want to tell everyone I love them and get in a fistfight. Just not always a fruit of the spirit.
