I think the originating pair is supposed to be an English pirate and a Spanish Senora. Then the dichotomies continue all the way up. Dad looks like a stone cold killer.

This is delightful, and I want one. If the dad looks like a stone cold killer, it might be because he spent some time in the military? He certainly has the haircut for it.
We’ve got some pretty wild family stories ourselves, which would be fun to have illustrated in Rockwell’s style.
