Easter Sunday
April 09th, 2023 by G.
On the sweetness of Mormon life.
After church a brother is playing Easter hymns outside on his bagpipes. He is wearing the full regalia and sunglasses–it is brighter and warmer here than in Scotland. Your family is dressed for Easter also, hats and pearls, another friend takes your picture.
You drove separately because you had come early to practice for a quartet. Your youngest, dressed to the nines, begs to ride home in the bed of your beat up old pickup.

Easter hymns played on bagpipes sounds *awesome*! (I have an as-yet-unfulfilled dream to learn the bagpipes; my youngest brother leans more toward the accordion.)
Happy Easter! He is risen indeed!

My goodness! I love bagpipes, but then, I’m fully 1/4 Scottish, Grandpa came from Dundee in about 1923.
We had such a spiritual Sacrament Meeting today, helped along by the wonderful hymns the our daughter, the chorister, chose. The traditional Christ the Lord is Risen Today for opening, Thy Will Oh Lord, Be Done for sacrament, All Glory, Laud and Honor, intermediate or rest hymn (what is it called these day?), and I Believe in Christ for the closing. Music touches my heart in ways nothing else can, and I find myself in tears a lot while trying to sing.
