A man who read 30 minutes of scripture a day decided he could easily read 45, nay, 60 minutes a day.
One Sunday morning he forgot to set his alarm clock and woke up late.
He realized that his 60 minutes would mean being late to church. So he missed the sacrament that day.

Reminds me of a friend who was so diligent in following the past prophets, like Pres Benson, that he became a Catholic.
Certainly not a dig against our Catholic brethren, but some times more apparent obedience is actually less.

The sudden laughter the end of the post evoked from me caused a coughing fit. If Dr. Charlton’s recent post about the dangers of checklists was the jab, this was the cross that leaves me a little stunned.

This reminds me of a missionary in one of my districts who would get up at 5am to study & subsequently fell asleep in the middle of teaching appointments.

It’s ironic that someone would choose President Benson as a past prophet to favor over others, considering his talk “14 Fundamentals of Following the Living Prophet” that observed how much easier it is to follow a dead prophet more than a living one.
