A Personal Update

I wed anew in April.

My second wife is Marleigh. We wed civilly, as she is also her late first husband’s eternally sealed spouse and has four children with him. Dating and then courting at 55 were rather more involved matters than they had been when I was thirty years younger: It is not territory for the faint of heart where everyone has experienced significant loss (a departed spouse, a destroyed marriage, or a vanished hope of marrying young and having children), and middle-aged people have entangled lives.

I will have you know that our first dance as a married couple was not to a Killers song. We danced to Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris.
