Pack Lipstick
I was telling someone about a dream. I and some men and boys were clustered around on a dirt track in the woods. At the point we were, there was a trail heading up the side of the mountain. I think we were talking about heading up it, or getting ready to do so.
Along up the track comes a horseman with a horse that is really wild, just flat out running and bucking and swerving around. Its eyes were wide and white. We all back off to the sides to let the man and his out of control horse through. Some back up against the slope on the one side of the dirt track and the rest of us back into the grassy verge on the other side. But this is all happening very fast, you must not imagine that we have made a very big lane between us, most of us have just had time for a step or two. I should also mention that on my side of the track–the side opposite the slope–there is a low lying ‘disc’ made of several grey limestones placed together. They aren’t very tightly placed, there is plenty of grass growing up between the cracks. It looks a bit like a low lying altar, but it isn’t anything of the kind. The Forest Service put it there for something or other.
As the horse gallops by it grabs my shirt near my collar in its teeth and tries to drag me off. I grab the stones, the horse is being pulled in a curve now, and then the dream ended.
“That sound’s significant,” she said (I disagree). “Let me tell you another dream I think was significant,” she says (I agree, and I think you will too once you hear it).
So an angel comes and says, ‘you need to pack to leave. Right now.’ In the dream, she said, it was clear she should pack clothes for work and rough duty. Jeans, sweats, sturdy jackets, like that. So she does. The angel looked over her stuff and added, “pack lipstick.”
The end.
That was about a week ago. The dream has been on my mind ever since. I don’t know what it means, I just know its meaningful.

Whereas my recent dreams were about nearly getting drowned by my doppelganger after being forced into a pool for random stranger’s amusement (then causing chaos by clambering out of said pool), or being compelled to attend the local crazy lady’s wedding and trying not to lose my temper while getting continuously insulted after buying her a rather expensive gift. I certainly hope my dreams weren’t meaningful in any way!

What comes to mind is that scene in Men in Black where Will Smith says, The difference between you and me, is … I make this look good.
This is, of course, a comedy, and it was definitely played for laughs.
But we do have to, as much as possible, make this look good. Sometimes God thwarts us, to see if we are willing to truly run contrary to the World. And yet, it is part of the victory we MUST make before the Second Coming.
I will get into this later, in my Isaiah podcast. The first part (ch. 1-37) regards Temporal Victory. The next section (ch. 38-54) is a Spiritual/Cultural victory.
Alas, I wish I explained myself better. A face for radio and a voice for print! But I will be polishing up the podcast in coming weeks.
