Sooner or later you have to scale back this little hope or that one and say
There’s always next Christmas.
For this Christmas, being very happy will have to be enough.

In our house, we did not even have a (full-size) Christmas tree this year. But we spent some good time with family, which was more important than decorations. We sang a lot. We ate a lot of good food. And everyone got where they needed to be before the storms hit *too* hard.
