The Wind in the Mountains
October 11th, 2021 by G.

I love the wind in the mountains
I love the wind in the hills
I love the ripple of water
over the high mountain rills.
I’ve made a bed near the willows
A bed on the sun-heated grass
I’ll watch the light on the water
and watch my thoughts ambling pass
and let the day ambling pass
and let the day ambling pass
Will I not some day build a dam here
to freshen some cleared mountain fields
and to turn a wheel on a crankshaft
for the power the water-run yields?
And yet through all my workings
the mountain stream onward will go
I will sit by my millrace
and watch it agelessly flow
as I age it will agelessly flow
as I age it will agelessly flow

That was nice, particularly the addition of labor to nature without that addition seeming a tragedy or crime. And the words flows well through the mind and lips.
