The Great Filter

Mediocrity is not all of it.

Perhaps Mediocrity of spirit, combined with greater and greater technology. We are becoming more and more capable of destroying ourselves, and we are on the verge of doing it a hundred different ways.

I had to look up “the Great Filter.”

What the Fermi Paradox does not take into account is… God. Let alone some additional factoids that the Restoration gives us.

And some tidbits of Restoration scripture raise more questions in the matter than they answer.

The scripture about how only the angels that appertain to this planet (ie, those souls who have been born or will be born on this planet) can minister to it, seems to indicate that inter-planetary communication is just not part of the plan.

Two mentions or hints of inter-planetary communication are post-millennial. The CK folks minister to tbe TrK, and the TrK folks minister to the TlK.

Outside of that triad of planets/Kingdoms, there is mention that the exalted tier of the CK have seer stones/Urim-Thummim to look into higher order planets/kingdoms. And the Celestial planet itself is a seer stone through which all CK inhabitants can look into lower order planets/kingdoms.

Communication from one mortal planet, or planet of mortals, to another doesn’t seem to be in the program, so far as our current scriptures indicate.

However, as our Christ is the creator of other planets peopled with spirit-children of Elohim (as stated in our scripture), one could assume they would need to know what Christ did on our planet, the Atonement, the Resurrection. So they would need some knowledge of us, even though we have no knowledge of them.

I wonder if the New World Nephites’ knowledge of the Old World Jews, but not vice versa, has any parallels to interplanetary relations.
