Wouldn’t it be cool

Wouldn’t it be cool if we could take other churches under our wing? If they could trust us to vet their pastors against prog?

I suspect, at some point, the government will get greedy, and begin taxing churches. Most churches will crumble. We will be one of the few alternatives that does not.

So yes, we will be vetting their pastors. Plan on it.

Can we start with our own Church?

WJT: That’s the first phase of a “pace and lead” maneuver, as described by Dale Carnegie. And as exemplified by the schmoozing that Ammon did with Lamoni.

@WJT,.

Sometimes one phrases things a particular way for a reason

@Milkman: the self-selection/separation self-vetting has been going on for about 12-13 years as far as I can tell. It started to accelerate at the time of policy changes and clarifications of SSM issues.

G, and I think other posters, have speculated about finding/forming common cause with other churches. I’ve often speculated about our relationship with other churches and their members too. I think it will be multi-faceted, maybe even including some patterns from the Book of Mormon.

@Books

Agreed, but I think we probably disagree about who is pacing-and-leading whom.

For the record, wiki says the preacher in the dialog/interview wjt linked above has supported gay rights since the 90s. He opposed the church’s prop 2008 efforts in CA.

WJT & Sute: IMO, the people being paced/led don’t appear in the video.

WJT: Sorry, I forgot to mention — that was an excellent rejoinder (who is pacing and leading whom).

Having a $100-billion-plus kitty tends to attract a lot of friends.

Whether one is able to keep those friends when they see that you have plans for that kitty that don’t include them, is another issue.

Yeah, focusing on ourselves might be good, while also lending a helping hand to any that might ask for it.
