More sons

I picked up a young son for lunch.
I wish I had more sons. Mine are not enough. It was a joy to be with him.
Now that I am healthier, there are gospel-type experiences, family-type experiences, that are almost unbearably vivid.

Such men are called as bishops and mission presidents.
(My mission president had only daughters. He prayed for sons.)

My sons, as well as my daughters, enthrall me with their endless variety and humanity. They are such fully-formed agents unto themselves. It delights me. And for the same reasons, it terrifies me. I have great hopes for my children. I also have great fears for what they may choose to become.
So, I love having eight children. But I don’t know if my soul could handle more. It has already been stretched beyond recognition by these.

As someone with 10 kids and who sometimes wants more, let me just say you’d be surprised how far your soul can stretch when it must stretch.
God’s grace can make anything infinite.
