Snow on the Mountains, A Sunday in Spring

March 30th, 2010 by G.

On the sweetness of Mormon life.

Testimony meeting. You listen. Jackson Pollock meets Seinfeld, you think–splattery words about nothing make you long for a travelogue.

Then. A little girl bears her testimony about Brother Moyle. He walked 20 miles to the temple, she says. She guesses he couldn’t get a cab.

Palm Sunday, you think. Out of the mouth of babes, you think. You think–for Brother Moyle thy name, o Jesus, be forever blest.

More testimony. The dead, marriage, friends, loss, Calvary, please God, I miss my dad, please God, my kids.

Outside. in the cadence of spring and snow, the mountains bear witness to the power of God.

Thank you for this. Lovely! My sweet moment from Sunday was when one of my ornery 5 year olds (from my CTR class) climbed up on my lap, leaned his head back, and warmed and filled my heart.
