Witnessing a Witness of the Witnesses
I heard an interesting testimony last Sunday. The current mission president has been serving here almost three years, and he and his family are members of our ward. He and his wife are not empty-nesters, so unlike previous presidents and wives we see a lot of them. Sister Cooke decided to share three experiences sitting next to apostles at dinner over these past three years that left her with a testimony that they do have a special calling. She said she is usually a cynic about authority, perhaps because her husband was a general and she herself worked at a high level in state government, but she felt differently about the apostles. She believes them to be special witnesses of Jesus Christ with a mission to make his gospel known to the world.
So, Sister Cooke shared her testimony with the ward of those who testify of Christ. I discussed her testimony with my family later at home.
