First Thing’s Manhattan Statement

Its pretty good.

I note with interest that none of the 12 have signed on. This could be because none of them want to officially associate the church with the positive view of “apostate Christianity” presented therein, or it could be that Mormons weren’t invited because they aren’t Christian. Hope not.

The Ensign has given both open and back-handed compliments to the Catholic church and the Reformationists over the years.

One of my favorite series of such articles was “How the Bible Came to Be” back in 1982.

It appears both Mormons and Jews were deliberately left out because they aren’t Christian.

Well, at least we’ve been promoted up to the same level as Judaism.

Maybe I’ll sign it, subversively.

I’m not sure where the apostrophe goes to create the “First Things” singular possessive.

Somewhere other than where I put it.

I’m not even sure that an apostrophe can get the job done!
