At the Last Judgment, the scales will fall from the eyes of the mathematicians; and the false mathematicians will curse that God has taken away their crutches and the complicated notations and papers that guaranteed their careers on Earth; and the true mathematicians will praise God for granting them a direct vision of what, before, they could only behold through brief glimpses and a long term of slavery to imperfect notations and formalisms.

Or something like that.
