Body and Spirit

I’m not sure what a good word would be for the vicious or imperfect form of Spirit. Pride? The ultimate unmoored egoism?
Here’s the synthesis chart.
It’s tempting to say that in Body and Spirit we have found the two general virtue categories that we have been looking for and have been calling Hot and Cold. That’s how I labeled them on the synthesis chart. But I don’t think that holds up. Just as with male and female, we can find hot and cold attributes of both. Fatigue and lethargy is bodily and dreams and symbols are spiritual. Hot and cold may just be its own dimension of reality. I suspect it is something to do with the time dimension. The Hot virtues and vices are now, and the Cold ones are future.

Listening to a talk about integrity on Sunday I started thinking about body and spirit and realized that one might say that to keep one’s first estate meant mastering the spirit, and that to keep one’s second estate means mastering the body.
Pulling on this thread while leaning on Bruce Charlton: to gain a spirit was to leave chaos behind and submit to God as Heavenly Parents, to have a Home, but also to experience hierarchy and structure and become enticeable.
That vice that apes Spirit might well relate to the identity dissolution of eastern-style Oneness or the anarchists’ bugbear Collectivism.
