The Feast of the Annunciation and the One Ring
March 25th, 2025 by Zen
Tolkien had the One Ring destroyed on March 25th.
This is also the Feast of the Annunciation and the traditional date for the Crucifixion.
Thank you to our Catholic brothers.

It may also be appreciated that there is a connection between March 25 and April 6.
April 6, 1830 New Style (Gregorian) is the same day as March 25 Old Style (Julian). It would fit traditional Christian calendaring with Latter-day Saint notions if we consider the day Mary conceived in her womb to be the day that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. And to give commemoration of that day an old timey, thee-and-thou religious flavor, mark it on Old Lady Day, April 6 (NS), instead of New Lady Day, May 25 (NS).

A decent, readable explanation of the Lady Day shift and split:

And December 25th is exactly 9 months after March 25th

Yes, that is the idea.
The writer I linked above, though giving a good brief explanation of the April 6/March 25 connection, did make a mistake about which Lady Day is Old and which is New. Old Lady Day, April 6 is the one to use if continuing with old arrangements that prior to 1750 in England and her colonies were synced with New Year’s Day, which was March 25 (OS). New Lady Day, March 25 (NS) is the one to use to align the stars and seasons so they match up with 325 AD and the Council of Nicaea.
