You sent me into a fit of giggles with ‘winsome maidens’, because I read this having just come in from the garden with very dirty overalls, all scratched up from wrangling fencing into a trellis, with my hair an absolute disaster and my fingers and toes positively purple from mulberry picking. I’m pretty sure I am the polar opposite of ‘winsome’ on any given day, today being worse than usual.
I’m not sure, is my answer on the courting. I have a lot of commitments to family this summer, so very little time or energy to do more than I am currently doing.

My daughter wants me to encourage all singles (31+) who are able, to attend the mega conference in Nauvoo in September. She went last and thoroughly enjoyed it (even though she didn’t meet her one and only) and looks forward to another spiritual feast again.
We were talking about hope and optimism. When I was single (married at age 30) I never gave up. If this guy didn’t work out, I was ever hopeful that the next one I met would. Giving up and not putting myself out there would have made it impossible to meet my husband. It is my belief that the more people you can meet (at conferences, activities, etc.) the more likely you are to meet a suitable companion. Especially if you clear your mind of expectations and be friendly to everyone.

Wanted to write in support of this. In the past I would have (or should have!) jumped at the chance, but I’m newly married. Wanted to talk about it a bit.
A girl I knew died. I wrote a bit about her (https://calculatedbravery.wordpress.com/2021/06/05/notes-on-femininity/), and on a whim posted it on r/redpillwomen. I got some nice comments, but I also got a message. We kept talking, and seeing as how the SPDI persona was already revealed, I felt more comfortable talking about the things that really get me going: glory, magic, nobility, kindness, wisdom, courage.
Later I told her about the Book of Mormon, and later still she was baptized, and then we were married. Soon we will be sealed.
There are difficulties. Commonplace things like: I am generally messier, but she doesn’t value a clean sink as much as I do. And harder things.
But overall I am supremely happy. Finally, someone else who gets it. And not an ephemeral meeting: my wife!
This small corner of the internet is sacred and holy, and I mean that as a technical term:
– of great value
– would collapse under the pressure of the attention of the wider public—even the wider public of the church
So I would encourage any single readers here to express their interest to G. A very small forum can be as large as the whole world. And G, if there’s any way I could help, including travel, please let me know.
