Love Conquers All
Recently I discovered, to my surprise, that I believe this. Love conquers all. Despite it not seeming very logical.
But before we decide that something is not logical, it behooves us to look at its logic.
Your basic intro logic consists of if-then statements. If p, then q.
If love, then conquering all.
What’s interesting is that the reversal also must be true. If not q, then not p.
That’s the real reversal. The apparent reversal, if not p, then not q, is actually logically invalid, though it is mostly true in ordinary speech.
But all that aside, I find that I do believe this:
If it does not conquer all, it is not love.
We must conclude that there are different ways for men and women to conquer all. But conquer all we must.
If we do not conquer all, we do not love.
