General Conference Weekend

The closing prayer was powerful. My peak conference moment so far. That’s a first.

I agree. I also liked Sister Cordon’s statement that we should ‘create a muscle memory of discipleship’. Orthopraxy helps us to strengthen our witness of Christ in our lives.

I intended to make a list of the stories but gave up part way through brother cook’s. This had been a story heavy conference

Elder Cook’s story, about speaking seven times in a single stake conference, naturally had my family and me feeling a bit sorry for him. But I also had to wonder what the audiences were starting to think, hearing him over and over.

The evening session surprised me with having only Seventies speaking. We surmised that either Elder Holland was going to speak then, or another member of the Twelve was going to, but got moved from there to Elder Holland’s spot; the time limits on the evening session have tended to be much more flexible than the daytime sessions.
