The best way is the the long-term way of thinking: building or rebuilding beautiful architecture and infrastructure that lasts; planting trees and gardens wisely and well, with an eye to the end result perhaps 20-100 years in the future; being good stewards of the land for future use and enjoyment; accumulating wealth for descendants; learning from the mistakes of ancestors and healing the wounds of abuse and sorrow that have been passed down through families; and preserving the best of our culture while discarding the dross.”

And the most difficult aspect of that project, is getting people to *want* to do it. If people were well/ properly *motivated*, we would not be where we are. Our problem is ends, not means.
(And ‘motivation’ means Christianity first – the rest will follow, or not… but either way, Christianity first.)

@ bruce charlton,
I assume a Christian (specifically Latter-day Saint) worldview as the impetus for such a lifestyle. If you intend to build Zion, you’ll take the long view naturally.
