This morning I was thinking of a report on the Charlottesville civil trial that near the end read, “Spencer brought with him to court a plush blue dinosaur he described as an ’emotional support animal.’ It was a gift from his young daughter, whom he said he hopes to focus more on now.”

I wondered what sort of “conservative” movement has leaders that bring stuffed animals to court or unprincipled, narcissist blowhards like Trump, and my main answer was they are opportunists propped up by those who find that sort of enemy useful to jeer at. So, I wondered, why are real conservatives allowing the emotional fakes to displace them instead of working manfully for the good of the country.

That thought led directly to thoughts of fertility declines, of the cowardly deserters who are ceding the future without a fight.

I’m guessing the Jewish number is somewhat misleading because lumping together a large portion who probably breed less than atheists and a smaller but always rising portion of high fecundity orthodox, who own the future of diaspora Jewry.

I think it’s a huge stretch to call Richard Spencer a conservative leader, or a leader of anything.

As I understand it orthodox American Jews have many children and most of them become Reform, giving the combined Jewish community a positive birthrate without destabilizing the culture. I don’t know if there’s a name for this process but apparently something much like it occurs between city and country in the US, where people in the country have plenty of kids, most of them move to the city and crash their fertility, and so cities grow while the country’s population is static.
