I have really been hoping, perhaps in vain, that Romney was pursuing an unorthodox strategy – waiting.

He lets people get good and sick of the candidates, and then swoops in at the last moment, perhaps with a Democrat VP and successfully splits the vote. The field is actually ripe for a capable politician (notwithstanding, Mullin).

Of course, this requires that he is already on the ballots, and it might be too late if he isn’t.

Otherwise, the election is over, as far as I am concerned and we lost. Now we just have to pick Trump or Hillary.

Is he a Mormon, or a “mormon”? Hillary’s VP is a “catholic” while Trump’s looks like an actual Catholic.

I’ve made my choice. There’s at least one conservative on the Republican ticket, there are none on the Dem ticket. And it would be possible to impeach Trump, not so with Clinton.

The CIA and Goldman Sachs components of his resume do not endear him to me. If there is a Deep State, McMullin would be the perfect candidate for them. Forty years old and not married is perfect for a career spy with postings overseas, but a bit unusual for presidential candidates. When asked if he had killed anyone (presumably meaning at the CIA not Goldman Sachs), his reply was no comment.

He also stated that he would not make appointments to the Supreme Court with the intent of overturning Obergefell.

In short he is an obscure candidate representing the status quo without the known personal defects of the two major candidates. Had he run in the primaries of either party, he would have gotten absolutely nowhere.
