A Rising, a Scab, or a Bright Spot

Through repetition a pattern emerges that would be ignored if only seen in a couple of instances. Thus it was for me reading Leviticus chapter 13. That is the one about how the priest is to distinguish between leprosy and ordinary ugly sores. There is some variation, but two questions recur: Is the sore only skin deep, or does it penetrate to the flesh? If examined again a week later, has the sore spread? Sadly, if the answers are yes, then the leper must be removed from the camp to dwell alone until by some miracle he is healed. If he is healed, then offerings may be presented on the altar before the tabernacle to cleanse the unclean.
