Scott Brown Elected
Republicans, Tea Partiers, and ornery citizens everywhere are celebrating the amazing Scott Brown victory. They have every right to. But they may wish to consider the wisdom of J.R.R. Tolkien.
“It is ever so with the things that men begin: there is a frost in Spring or a blight in Summer, and they fail of their promise.”
Our kingdom is not of this world, and certainly not of any political party, and certainly not of a special election in Massuchussetts.
This is not counsel for cynicism and despair. By all means let your hope blaze up for a new venture in politics or business or a new church program. Just remember that a deeper hope underlies all hopes and that hope, in Christ, will never come to ashes.

Indeed. The Obama supporters have already learned this lesson. I hope the loyal opposition to Obama can learn it less painfully.

The lesson is “Vader for President”? Right?
Or did I miss something?

There is already talk of Brown running for President in 2012. I am very happy to have Brown in the Senate, but I can only shake my head in disgust at the thought of drafting him for President. He appears to be a bit more liberal than Romney, and Romney has been excoriated as a RINO. And Brown would have about as much experience as Obama — we have seen to our cost.
How fickle the voters are.

Fickle, nothing (in this case, anyhow.) Loyalty against Romney for being Mormon has never wavered in the least.
