The Chief Rabbi of France is French

February 13th, 2013 by G.

The Chief Rabbi of France has some keen insight into marriage and sexuality, if you can get over the frenchiness of his language, even in translation.

Porn Use Boosts Support for Same-Sex Marriage

February 12th, 2013 by Man SL

Keep this in mind when you get frustrated at the Godbeite Blog or other Bloggernacle sites for advocating gay marriage. Perhaps the poor dears can’t help it.

Elder Oaks’s Friday Evening Talk

February 11th, 2013 by G.

I could happily listen to Elder Oaks reading the phone book. That he also talks good sense when he talks is almost over-egging the pudding.

Women Are Dispensable

August 30th, 2012 by G.

Square Two has a response to Taylor Petrey’s attempt to imagine a Mormonism without the central Mormon doctrines of eternal marriage, descent, and ancestry. (more…)

Polyamorous Marriage

August 29th, 2012 by G.

The Devil and his party are too impatient in their attacks on marriage. In Brazil the opening move in a campaign to remove the bigoted restriction of marriage to two people has already begun. This lickerish haste will backfire.

Using Christian Ghosts to Criticize Christianity

May 22nd, 2012 by G.

This Ross Douthat piece is worth your while. He points out that most reflex liberalism (equality! fairness!) is really reflex Christianity, and it doesn’t make much sense to criticize Christianity’s sexual ethics, e.g., on the grounds that they conflict with some vaguely remembered echo of Christian doctrine on the dignity of man that’s been worked up into a generalized system.

Homosexuality can be a choice.

January 24th, 2012 by Bookslinger

Over the past several years I’ve made several comments at various blogs that same-sex marriage (which is a very big step in the overall destigmatization of homosexuality) will lead to homosexuality becoming a socially acceptable choice.

Well, it has started sooner than I thought it would.  I refer you to recent statements by Cynthia Nixon, who, after a 15-year marriage to man, claims she chose to be gay.

Couple this with primary and secondary school textbooks being rewritten to contain positive homosexual characters, and arts and media presenting positive homosexual characters and role models.

I  invite you to connect the dots and extrapolate.

Government in the Marriage Business

June 16th, 2011 by Bertie

Is marriage a business? When the dear little woman pulls down my head to hers and whispers “my mate” and, er, well, one needn’t elaborate. . . . Hardly here or there, what? The point, the thing I’m driving at, if you get me, is that one hardly associates the lovebird stuff with the green eye-shade set. Bertram isn’t actually married yet, I hear you saying, and I gracefully concede the objection. But I hardly see how a few well-expressed vows in front of a beneficent clergyman will transmute the bwessed awwangement into pots o’ goblins. Dashed nonsense.
