Ann Coulter on demographics and the 2012 election.

November 16th, 2012 by Bookslinger

More racist analysis. Says Ann: “Democrats haven’t changed anyone’s mind. They changed the people. ”

The change in demographics was a deliberate strategy, going back to the 1960′s, implemented in large part by immigration laws and policies.

Demographic breakdown of 2012 presidential election.

November 10th, 2012 by Bookslinger

Alternate headline: Racist, sexist statistics.

The Daily Mail has some shocking demographic analysis of the 2012 presidential election.

If only men (all races) had voted, Romney would have won 322 electoral votes, to 216.

If only whites (all genders) had voted, Romney would have won 441 to 97.

If only white males had voted, Romney would have won 501 to 37.

Jonathan Chait endorses Mitt Romney

September 19th, 2012 by Vader

“It seems unavoidable now to conclude that Romney’s embrace of Paul Ryanism is born of actual contempt for the looters and moochers…”

To be sure, it’s not 100% clear to me that Chait actually meant this to be praise, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Because, surely, a really smart guy like Chait who has his very own column wouldn’t suggest something as stupid as that we should not feel contempt for the looters and moochers. Would he?

Paul Ryan’s Convention Speech

August 30th, 2012 by Adam G.

Politics is a dirty business. Gentlemen are interested in it, but shamefully, like some secret vice. It isn’t until politics has become history that it becomes honorable.

But sometimes you see history in the making and you have to own your vice. Paul Ryan’s speech last night, even in this degenerate age of oratory, had a line that may outlive this campaign season. We are being tempted, he said, to be “a country where everything is free but us.” (more…)

“It’s that Mitt Romney had a father who loved him.”

August 07th, 2012 by Vader

Explaining Obama’s antipathy to Romney.

For once, I can kind of relate to Obama, though I’m a solid Romney supporter.

Mitt Romney picks up another endorsement

April 27th, 2012 by Vader

Sort of. This time it’s History’s Greatest Monster.

In spite of the recent spate of similar endorsements, I continue to support Romney. But, I gotta tell ya, this makes it quite a lot harder.

And it troubles me when analysts opine that Romney may pick up crucial independent votes because the voters are hoping he won’t keep his promises.

In Obama’s case, of course, my fear is that he will.

The hard stuff

April 17th, 2012 by Vader

With the impending nomination of Mitt Romney as the Republican candidate for President of the United States, I believe it is all but inevitable that Orrin Hatch will be proved right, and the Democrats will make a serious effort to throw the Church at Romney. It’s possible that Obama’s official campaign will try to preserve plausible deniability on this ugly tactic, but it will be part of the overall Democratic campaign strategy nonetheless.

So what about the Church will the Democrats throw at Romney? Three very likely candidates are polygamy, the ban on ordaining blacks to the priesthood, and the Church’s opposition to gay marriage.  I am going to try to preempt some of this attack with a (probably very long) post on these topics. Let it be understood that what I post is the opinions of Brother Vader, a mostly orthodox but decidedly unconventional Latter-day Saint, and that I am not an official spokesman for the Church.   (more…)

Gene Simmons Endorses Romney

April 04th, 2012 by Vader

I pledged to continue supporting Romney in spite of an endorsement by Carly Fiorina. Even the best candidate is going to get endorsements from odd places, because odd people make their endorsements for odd reasons. So even the latest endorsement, by KISS frontman Gene Simmons, will not keep me from supporting Romney.

His Majesty: “Though I’m not a U.S. citizen, I, too, hope to see Romney elected.”

Don’t push it, Your Majesty.

Big, Bad Ideas (and Some Good Ones)

January 24th, 2012 by Adam G.

Gingrich’s space ideas, some of ‘em, make me want to hoot ‘n’ holler. But his other notions plumb make me want to shoot the cheatin’ varmint. Them thar fancifal decoctions of what he is pleased to call his headpiece are dumber than a steer in a dairy.
