Up to the Minute Heroes

A bull was by himself in the corner of the pasture, weakly tossing grass with his horns and lowing softly.  To all appearances he was disconsolate.  A passing fox stopped and watched for a little while.

The fox spoke.  “You are a great bull with many cows and calves and fine pasture.  I see you in excellent health.  What grief can have overcome you in this way?” (more…)

The Lion and the Jackdaw
