So the operative statement may be reduced to “the State shall take, the State shall give.”

Bob, the issue of whether gun control increases crime or reduces crime has been dealt with extensively for over 14 years. Please read this book, originally published in 1998, and now in its 3rd edition. Do you honestly think Jovan Belcher would not have attempted to kill his girlfriend with a rope, a steak knife or his bare hands if he really wanted to kill her and no gun was handy? Isn’t it possible that she may be alive today if SHE had had a gun to defend herself against his murderous intent?

I do not know if the statistics on bare-handed murder include Force chokings. However, it seems clear that no murders using light sabers were included in the FBI statistics.

I understand why Big Crime and their fat-cat publicists would push this sort of thing, but I have to think their advertisement will backfire with the public, who are, after all, a bunch of racists. They should have used a white criminal.
