File this under, I can’t possibly see how this could go wrong.
File it right next toBritain’s Doomsday Nuke Subs Still Run Windows XP

Obama snuck in an act in the latest defense spending bill called the “Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act”.

This creates an agency that decides what is ‘fake news’ and  ‘develop and disseminate’ “fact-based narratives”…. aka propaganda.

Yes, we have an agency for deciding who is right and who is wrong through a “whole-government approach without the bureaucratic restrictions” to counter “foreign disinformation and manipulation.”

Either, we have Democrats so amazingly shortsighted that they can’t understand they are handing it directly to Trump, or it is really just part of the globalist agenda, what the Book of Mormon would call Secret Combinations.

Hold on tight. If 2016 was fun, 2017 is going to be hilarious.

There’s actually something to be said for using Windows XP to run your nuke subs. It’s a simpler system than the later Windows and rather more thoroughly debugged.

Though I’d much rather they were using Linux.

Ministries of truth, on the other hand, have practically nothing to be said for them.

I may be Pollyanna-ish – but I am pleased that this longstanding and increasing fact of modern life (I mean that public discourse is thoroughly dishonest and deceptive) has been brought-out into the open.

I suspect that our evil Masters would have preferred to retain the current deniable yet effective system of covert distortion and pro-Left censorship; but they are becoming acutely afraid of a backlash, and have been panicked into behaving in this hasty and high risk fashion that makes it harder *not* to notice what is going-on.

I’m with Bruce. I feel the same about the Fake News brouhahaha. I’m glad the converged leftists running Facebook are being open about what they have been doing all along anyway.

In my darker moments, I wonder how much longer blogs like this one will be allowed to operate.

The flip side of being out in the open is that it’s classic modern PR strategy in the age of 24hour news.

The stunning, jaw dropping nature of it is lost when a bunch of pundits can say that was known months or years ago and see nothing is wrong, the sky didn’t fall.

Yet seen too oft, familiar with her face, We first endure, then pity, then embrace.

We’re skipping over pity as a society it seems. Just lots of enduring and embracing. It’s just like magic…

“Always question authority!” was the order of the day when leftist radicals were challenging the staus quo in the 1960’s.

But now that they’re in charge…
