While the Earth may have been created in 6 days, the Almighty certainly has not taken a vacation. By nature, He is a creator, and he continues to create, both gradual new life on earth and new bodies outside of this earth. Here we have an instability in the rings of Saturn, forming into a new moon. This one in particular, (informally known as ‘Peggy’) is not expected to grow much larger and may not be stable. But scientists think that the rest of the moons of Saturn formed in a similar way and that the ring system of Saturn used to be much more extensive.
And in other planet related news, scientists working with the Kepler telescope have just announced discovery of the first Earth-sized planet in the so-called Goldilocks Zone. This is the closest match made so far, out of the 1800+ planets discovered and it is a mere 500 light years away.
