We endeavor to give satisfaction

The Land of Mañana is the Land of Mañana.

The US is going southwest, inevitably. That’s not a prediction, its simply looking at current births and realizing that every 20-year old 20 years from now is being born now.

Good thing so many join the Church.

Joining the Church is a generational thing, I think. Living in the Southwest myself, what I’ve noticed is that as the third or fourth generation immigrants assimilate to American norms (or American underclass norms) and do not convert more than others in their socioeconomic category. These converts also have a harder time staying active, on average, though no convert group is ideal in that respect. and the effect is partly tied to socioeconomic status too.

In short, though I only have anecdotal evidence, I doubt that going southwest, much less being southwest, offers significant proselyting benefits.

Excepting a handful of miraculous cases, conversion is a slow harvesting process with all peoples. We preach to whoever we can reach; such is our duty. It would be nice to think we could hunker down and fulfill the responsibility to spread the gospel by teaching our own rising generation, like the Amish rationalize they are doing.

It would be good if the government didn’t make it a bonus to be hispanic, not white.
