One of John C. Wright’s misses was to conclude that Chiang was a New Atheist type because some of his stories had God acting apparently arbitrarily. I don’t know what Chiang’s profession of faith is, but I always find his stories to be deeply moving expresssions of a God, of a reality, that is bigger than we are.
