“She treats her womb like a clown car”

February 20th, 2013 by Vader

I am of two minds on this.

On the one hand, the woman is happy to rely on the taxpayers of Britain* to support her 11 children. Like the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well, her marital history is murky, but her children appear to have mostly been conceived and raised out of wedlock. This is not a good thing.

On the other hand, I have a feeling that even if all eleven kids were legitimate, and she was in a stable marriage with their father who was providing adequate support, a fair number of Brits would still be accusing her of treating her womb like a clown car. And you have to give her a few points for not aborting her pregnancies.

The problem isn’t that she treats her womb like a clown car. The problem is that she treats her womb like a U-Box rental, then demands government compensation when her customers abandon the contents. You will forgive my bluntness.

A clowncar government fosters a clowncar culture fosters clowncar welfare fosters a clowncar woman with a clowncar womb.

I’m afraid she is more calculating than that. I think she had the children intentionally in order to maximize her profit via govt enefits, and to prolong the time she can remain on benefits. After the first few, pregnancy is no longer an accident.

And let’s not ignore the biological fathers. They are equal accomplices. I don’t know if financial support from fathers is as vigorously pursued by welfare authorities in Britain as it is in the US.

I suspect, that part of the problem, is that her actions are what economists would call ‘rational’. That is the abomination of the welfare state.

From a purely Darwinistic point of view, she’s been phenomenally successful.

Not quite, for a Darwinian POV. As it is, both men and women have two competing mating strategies. For men it is called Cad and Dad. One strategy favors numbers because some of them are bound to work out out. Evolutionarily speaking, this is why men and women sleep around. Men to win in terms of sheer numbers, and women to win in terms of better genes (or at least a better variety of genes) than a steady provider might provide.

The other biological strategy, is to invest a lot of time and effort in kids. This is the more difficult strategy, but it is the more successful one.

If we want to understand the Creation, we study geology and biology. If we want to understand the Fall, I think the best place to start (besides the Scriptures and prophets, obviously) is Evolutionary Psychology.

This is an often abused scientific fact – abused because at first glance it seems to justify promiscuity.
