The Military’s Primary Objective is No Longer to Fight

See here. It’s an alternative indoctrination method for young people who have escaped the university systems. I no longer advise young men of my acquaintance to consider military service.

This administration has been one long train wreck of a collision of their ideals with reality.

The train wreck hasn’t happened yet. It may not occur until Obama is out of office.
Another good article on women in combat:

This development bothers me as a civilian past enlistment age—one of those back home that young men go out to fight to defend along with their mothers, kid brothers, and girlfriends. Now that service is being rendered me by those it is shameful to accept it from. Middle-aged men may send their sons out to fight and perhaps die for them. They may not send their daughters.

Heather MacDonald thinks the Golden Age isn’t quite here yet:

The military, despite the political correct bullcrap that it is infected with, is still an honorable institution of service. I am still proud to serve as an active duty Navy linguist, despite these social experiments. I am not sure it’s proper to tell young men not to consider it. For some young men, it’s the best path toward independence and getting out of poor situations.
You can look up a female Marine Corps Captain on YouTube describe how her body stopped producing estrogen and she stopped menstruating when she was serving in certain combat operations in Iraq. She thinks the idea of women serving in combat doesn’t work because the stress harms female bodies (to say nothing of mental states).

Sarah Hoyt talks about the broader culture, and agrees with me that we are in free fall and the pavement is coming up fast.
