From the reviews:
Thanks to the EPA, there are far more navigable waters in the US than you can imagine. Having read this might be your only chance of survival when a supertanker is heading upstream in what you thought was a drainage ditch.
I’m thinking of buying a copy for the creep my daughter is dating. She’d be crushed if he ended up as a big bug-splat on the front of somebody’s Star Destroyer.

A sub captain once met with my group to discuss the hydrodynamics particulars of an instance of failing to avoid a huge ship a few weeks earlier. I was impressed by his professionalism in reviewing the event leading to loss of his command. We wanted to know as much as we could about how his boat peformed when a tanker passing yards above sucked his boat into the tanker’s hull.

This book would be just the thing for him. Even at $6 per page, it’s a good investment.
