Somethin’ for our unhitched hombres

January 16th, 2013 by Pecos Bill

To help them with their matrimonical aspeerations:

A map showin’ where the unhitched gals are, and where they ain’t.

Go South, young man.

I was genyooinely befuddled seein’ Yootah in the deep blue. I always figgered the gals stayed home while the menfolk went seekin’ their fortunes. You’d think them Yootah folks were still takin’ more than one gal apiece and leaving none for the young’uns, but that ain’t it.

Mayhaps I oughtn’t be so hard on my Yootah relations who fuss that you can’t find a good woman no more. Then again, they got 56 other states to choose to settle down in.

If you read the article with due care, you will discover that there are presently more single men than single women amongst the younger age cohorts in the United States. If it is not too great a liberty, may I suggest that it might be well for all of us to give some considered sympathy to our young, unmarried male acquaintances, in whichever of the (ahem) fifty States they may reside. Much as we gave considered sympathy to our young unmarried female acquaintances in the past, when the situation was reversed.
