For failing to commit a dangerous patient.
Okay, I understand that issues of professional responsibility and the rights of the mentally ill can be complex. But this is what boggled my mind:
Gaillard was not held responsible for his actions and was freed under medical supervision.
Absolutely mind bogging. The court, having convicted the psychiatrist for failing to commit the patient instead of merely supervising him, has ordered the patient … released under medical supervision.
